trying out the kicker... and.. it worked out good!
the following day we went out there again, and the kicker was ready for a real session...
Juhana had a goal for this kickersession. He really wanted to do backsideair like our heroes did back in the days. At the end of the day he charged his guts and almost got the board above his head. i guess he left his mind behind and let his board do the talk!
When building the kicker, Torgeir had the goal of at least recreating his personal record of high airs, but he had to wait until the afternoon, when the snow was faster and not as sticky to get enough speed to charge it. He soon concluded that the days of bones made out of rubber is definetly far gone. Still, he managed to pull out a few airs for old times sake.
In the imaginationland, Charlie decided that he's not 30 years old. He also remembered flying high on the same spot 10 years ago. With one goal on his his mind, he set out to redo his previous epic moments.
Too bad Kristian had a hangover from the night before. He actually had a girl waiting for him, but he just had to go home alone because of the amount of beers! Even though the outcome, Kristian is not like many of the other guys in Narvik. He actually showed up, had a few runs, went down to get some water, showed up again and figured out the transition. A good backside air will definetly come to you along with the age! We say that out of experience...
Frode is the definate winner of the day. this guy is one of the frontierbreaking snowboarders from Narvik. it's been ten years since he last did a kicker like this. He got a call, showed up, was happy and did huge airs on the kicker. Even though he's rusty, his airs were just as high as the other guys'. We love you Babben!
addi had a hard time figuring out how the kicker worked. But when he did... damn... one of the highest frontside airs of the day.
We asked him later how his feelings were. he just had a few words to say. amongst them we heard awesome and amazing. We're just thinking he's gonna go even higher the next time. Addi is obviously in love with the air under his feet.
Juhana... get that fucking nitroboard above your head...
Grans' Bare Øl is the cheapest one in Norway. We concluded with the fact that it's also one of the best tasting beers!
After a session like this, we needed to take a break and let it all sink in.
Holy Moly! the norwegian guy just had to show the world that he's still one of the gnarly dudes, even though he's about to turn 30 years old! Drunken railsession on our way down from our barbeque/kickersession. Shitloads of beers in the backpack.
